Why Buy Our Made To Measure Wooden Blinds
Where Can You Fit Wooden Blinds?
Moreover, they offer great privacy benefits. To enjoy full privacy with almost any other window furnishing you have to block out all the light. With wooden Venetian blinds however, you can simply angle the slats to keep prying eyes out of your home while still allowing light to filter from outside.
This privacy makes natural wooden blinds the perfect addition to any bedroom or living room. However, for bathroom or kitchen windows we recommend you choose from our range of faux wooden blinds to avoid warping and cracking from high moisture levels in these areas. These elegant blinds retain much of the beauty of natural wood alternatives, while providing you with greater flexibility.
What Are Our Different Types Of Wooden Blinds?
Faux Wooden Blinds – Faux wooden blinds offer the beauty of natural wood with increased flexibility. Because they are waterproof, you can enjoy the style of wooden Venetian blinds in rooms with high moisture levels such as the kitchen and bathroom.
Wooden Blinds With Strings – This design provides a clean, simple yet stylish look. They are perfect for smaller windows.
Wooden Blinds With Tapes – Tapes provide a beautiful finish to our wooden blinds, and add a look of quality and tradition. Select contrasting tapes for that additional pop of colour. Wooden blinds with tapes are perfect for larger windows both in the home and working environments.
Embossed Wooden Blinds - Made from the same material as faux wood blinds, with identical features and benefits. However, instead of smooth slats, the slats have etched markings to resemble the look and feel of real wood.
How To Measure For Wooden Blinds
Inside Recess (RECESS SIZE) – You will need this measurement if your new blind is to fit inside the window recess. Measure the width and drop from three different positions ensuring you provide the smallest measurement. We will then make the necessary deductions to ensure the blind fits neatly within the recess of your window.
Outside Recess (EXACT SIZE) – An exact size blind is the measurement you need to take if the blind will hang outside the recess, overlapping the window. Select how much to overlap the recess at each side, we recommend at least 7.5cm per side, as well as the top and bottom. As with the recess measurement, measure the width and the drop in three different positions ensuring you provide us with the smallest measurement. If you’re concerned about measuring your blinds, you can benefit from our Surefit guarantee, for complete peace of mind.

White Wooden Venetian Blinds - A popular option due to versatility. Use white as a part of any theme or colour palette to enhance the chicness of the room. Whether you use neutral or vibrant tones already, a white wooden blind won’t let you down.
Natural Coloured Wooden Venetian Blinds - These are popular choices too. At Blinds Direct we offer different shades of oak and walnut which partner well with multiple decor styles from Scandi to Nordic, Traditional and Cottagecore.
Statement Wooden Venetian Blinds - Dark wooden Venetian blinds will be sure to make a powerful statement in your home, particularly in black or carbon. Which Is Better Faux Wood Or Wood Blinds?
Faux wooden blinds have the edge however in wetter environments. Where natural wood can warp and crack when wet, faux wooden blinds will not. If you simply must have a wooden blind in your bathroom, faux wood is the best choice for you.
What Is The Difference Between Faux Wood & Wood Blinds?
Natural Wooden Venetian Blinds are stained or painted to provide a great range of options for style-conscious decorators.
Faux Wooden Blinds however are made from a composite PVC. While they look very similar to natural wood, faux wooden blinds have the added benefit of water resistance. While we discourage natural wooden blinds in bathrooms, faux wooden blinds will work a treat.
