Life Kitchen Cookery School
A few weeks ago, we were delighted to attend the launch of Life Kitchen Cookery School, having gifted some of our handmade wooden blinds to this award-winning, not-for-profit project.
Life Kitchen Cookery School is a non-profit organisation based in Mowbray Park, Sunderland.
Headed up by food writer and stylist Ryan Riley, Life Kitchen Cookery School offers relaxed, friendly cookery classes that are tailored to the needs of chemotherapy patients. Founded in memory of his late mother, Krista, Ryan’s school aims to help those living with cancer, and the people that care for them.
We were delighted to have been involved in the launch. Working with Dearnleys, who were looking to source window blinds for the kitchen, we handcrafted and donated 11 beautiful wooden blinds. Our charming Burnished Oak Wooden Venetian Blinds were the perfect choice for completing the space and help to create a cosy kitchen feeling.
Meeting Nigella Lawson, who officially opened the school, was an added bonus! Here are some snaps of the day…
It’s always an honour to be involved in projects like Life Kitchen, and we are so pleased to have contributed to the look and feel of this space, creating a cosy and comfortable area for patients and their families to cook, bake and have fun together.
