A Social Snapshot: September’s Selections
As September comes to an end, it’s time to showcase three of our favourite tagged images from our social media channels. Featuring a range of stylish rooms, we hope you find our selection inspiring and enjoy reading about them as much as we loved writing about them!
September’s selections
September is the time of year, when the cosy blankets reappear, and we prepare for the coming winter nights. That said, with many of us still grasping to the last glimmers of summer, we thought we would enjoy one last hurrah and celebrate light, bright, and summer inspired interiors before we plunge into the depths of winter… we hope you enjoy this selection!
Furry friend approved
Kickstarting this months’ Social Snapshot blog selection is the beautiful bedroom designed by @claytoncorner, and it appears we aren’t the only ones enjoying the beauty of this room, @claytoncorner’s feline friend – Hendrix appears to be very content relaxing in the space!
When it comes to the décor, what initially caught our eye was the pattern we see in the cushions and from the panelling behind the bed. Pattern is a great way to bring in texture and detail to the space, particularly with monochrome palettes. Attention to detail such as this can instantly elevate any décor, adding a professional touch. A great starting point for adding detail is via curtain headings, whether you like to go for a more traditional appearance with a triple pinch pleat heading, or keep the décor looking timeless with a pencil pleat, we have a selection for everyone.
@claytoncorner has gone for a unique twist when it comes to the window coverings, as she has selected two layers of voile curtains and paired them with a double roller blind. The double layer of voile is great for protecting your privacy from the outside world, whilst keeping the room feeling light and bright All the while, a blackout roller will help you drift off into a deep sleep. Together they work in harmony – especially as we bid goodbye to summer.
A luscious living room
During the summer months we feel light, bright, and energised. As a result, keeping that sensation alive during the winter is a great way to keep those winter blues at bay.
Living rooms are where we tend to spend most of our time, so ensuring we have a fun and impactful space, while meeting the needs for both hosting and relaxing, is vital. @alexevehome has created a space that caters to all the needs that a modern living room requires, from the bright colourways to the comforting furnishings. The bold blue of the sofa keeps energy within the space, making this living room a fun place for hosting friends and family, while also looking incredibly comfortable.
When it comes to relaxing, privacy is the first requirement and with the addition of the Day and Night blind, blocking out prying eyes has never been easier. The zebra-like stripes of the blinds work in a way to allow sunlight to flood the space, while obscuring the view from the outside world. They are also a great window dressing for bringing a modern twist into the space, paired with the marble print on the wall, this space is one we wouldn’t mind relaxing in!
A serene study
With working from home the new norm for many, having a designated room to focus in is a must. @oliviasinteriors has created the ideal room for working from home, with calming shades, implementation of plants, and having a lot of natural light flood the space. All these components are key for creating an environment fit for achieving her work goals.
As Olivia has identified, wooden Venetian blinds are an ideal choice when it comes to studies, as you can position the slats to prevent the sun’s rays getting in your eyes or reflecting off the screen, without having to block it out entirely. The addition of the pelmet is another design feature that brings in a professional finish to the space. It looks superb!
The space itself is light and bright, which is a bonus for working in – we need natural light to keep us stimulated and having a room that will reflect it around is ideal. Additionally, this same brightness will help the room remain cosy even in the winter months, thanks to the warming undertones of the neutral paint. The warming undertones will enhance the warming light emitted from the feather lamp, creating a cosy feel even on the coldest of days.
With October around the corner, we are very much looking forward to the change in styling and seeing how you get your homes ready for winter. Want to feature in our next ‘A Social Snapshot’ blog? Make sure to tag us on Instagram with our handle @blindsdirectgb.
