How to measure Roof Blinds
Measuring for your roof blind is easy - most of the time you won't even need a tape measure. All you need to do is open up your window, and as you swing it you'll see a small metal patch on the top. This has the brand name of your window and a code. This will differ depending on the make of your window.
Velux
There are a number of letters and digits on the Velux plate, but you're only interested in the first six or seven. These are split into two sets. The first of these sets will be three letters long, for example "GGU", and is your "Window Type" code. Next to that code will be another one which is three or four characters long, and will look like "C01" or "PK35". This is the "Size" code. Simply select these codes on our website when you are filling out your order.
Fakro
On a Fakro plate you will see two numbers divided by a slash or an "x" like this: 78/98 or 78x98. These are the dimensions of your window in centimetres - the first number is the width, and the second number is the height.
Dakstra or Rooflite
Both Dakstra and Rooflite windows have one short code on the sash which is three characters long. It starts and ends with a letter, with a number in between, such as "C2A". When you are purchasing your blind, enter this code when you are prompted to choose your side.
Dakea
The code for a Dakea roof window is located on a metal plate or sticker near the locking mechanism. If missing or faded, measure the visible glass size in centimetres and use our chart to find the code. Dakea codes combine letters (frame width) and numbers (frame height), with sizes ranging from C2A (55x78 cm) to U8A (134x140 cm), including the frame.
